“We think we have to do something to be grateful for or something has to be done in order for us to be grateful, when gratitude is a state of being.” Iyanla Vanzant
I have always been a terrible journaler. When I started my blog I figured writing it would inspire me to do more journaling—not so much. So when my yoga instructor gave us a 7 day journaling exercise I figured I could do it for at LEAST 7 days. I was supposed to start Wednesday, and let’s just say I am a little behind, OK, I haven’t started. Today is the day to catch up and get this ball rolling!
Part of the journaling exercise was to list 3 things daily that you are grateful for. I have heard of the benefits of doing this before, and thought it was a great idea. I’m not sure why I didn’t start doing this as I believe showing gratitude has far-reaching benefits. But now I am ready to get started, and coincidentally (or maybe not??) I came across this infographic about gratitude produced by Happify. I am a big fan of showing information through graphs and pictures, and I was delighted that they did such a great job of showing the benefits of gratitude. And if you are wondering how to have more gratitude in your life, they have some great tips towards the end. Enjoy!
